They would be responsible for determining and assigning expenditure estimates in all broadcast media. (Spot Television, Network Television, Network Cable, National Syndication, Network Radio, etc.)
Input rates information into the appropriate company system(s)/spreadsheets.
Contacts television stations, networks, advertising agencies and other sources as needed to obtain expenditure information.
Researches questions regarding changes in advertising specifications and makes appropriate changes in the system and documentation.
Analyses data, identifies trends and takes appropriate action. Notifies supervisor of opportunities for improvement in performance on an individual, team, or department level.
Will need excellent EXCEL skills; prepares and distributes internal reports and spreadsheets.
Maintains files of rate card information so it is easily accessed for client questions that may arise.
Assists with updating documentation and publication setup applicable to various media and processes.
Works inter-departmentally to ensure that closeout processes flow smoothly and appropriate deadlines are met.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Demonstrated proficiency in Rates, Editing, or related. Must have computer skills, including the use of e-mail, word processing and spreadsheets. Must have strong organizational skills, detail orientation, and the ability to multi-task. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including proficiency with spelling, grammar, and punctuation. Knowledge of Brand Central methodology / creation is a plus.
Overtime and weekend work may be required, as necessitated by the workload and/or as directed by the Supervisor. Must be self-motivated, have the ability to prioritize work without direct supervision, and meet deadlines in an environment which is often stressful.
Must be able to occasionally lift and carry file boxes and other awkward items weighing up to 20 lbs. Must be able to sit and perform work at a computer keyboard for as much as eight (8) hours per day. Requires intermittent standing, walking, sitting, squatting, stretching, and bending throughout the workday. Must be able to see and hear, or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
