INSPECTOR (QA) MACHINE SHOP
CHESAPEAKE, VA 23320
This position is responsible for the quality of parts leaving our facility. This requires hands on inspection, and implementation/documentation of all Quality requirements.
Hours: 7am-4pm 40 or more hours weekly
Dress code: neat work clothes with steel toed shoes
Pay is $18-19 per hour DOE
Min 3 years experience as a quality inspector in a machine shop environment
GD&T (Geometric dimensioning and tolerance) knowledge a must
Understand imperial and metric
Inspect spare parts to ensure accuracy to prints and software requirements.
Inspect high speed separators sent in by customer to determine what repairs are required.
Uses micrometers, gages and other precision measuring equipment.
Performs nondestructive testing as needed to reveal cracks, stresses corrosion of parts. Certification required to conduct Dye Penetrant Tests (Zyglo; Dye Check)
Assembles quality plans required for each repair utilizing databases, blueprints, drawings and manuals.
Must be able to use precision measuring tools calipers, micrometers, height gages and standard layout tools
Performs post repair quality review.
Responsible for storage of equipment before and after repair.
Inventories parts being used for repairs.
Previous experience with precision measuring instruments.
Machining experience is a plus.
Previous experience reading/ interpret blueprints and drawings.
Solid PC and organizational skills
Able to operate forklifts and hoists
Will be trained on use of forklift and must be capable of becoming certified forklift operator
Understands complicated blueprints, drawings and manuals.
Flexibility with changing work requirements
Non Destructive Testing (NDT) certification
Must be willing to work overtime and all shifts
Must wear company supplied uniforms and maintain professional business presentation
Read and write and effectively communicate in the English language.
Must be able to lift and carry 60 lbs. As required
